Rosé, the main vocalist of the popular K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, has been under controversy lately for some baseless rumors that circulated online. The singer was accused of using drugs and dating actor Kang Dong Won after some photos of her at a party were posted by a famous fashion designer. However, Rosé proved that she is not bothered by the haters and delivered a powerful message during her performance at Coachella.
Rosé was invited to attend a party hosted by Eva Chow, a renowned art collector and co-founder of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Art + Film Gala. The party was also attended by other celebrities such as Riccardo Tisci, the former chief creative officer of Burberry, and Kang Dong Won, a well-known Korean actor. Tisci shared some photos of the event on his Instagram account, including one where Rosé can be seen sitting at a table with some objects on it.
Some netizens quickly jumped to conclusions and claimed that they saw drugs on the table, implying that Rosé was involved in illegal activities. However, YG Entertainment, the agency of BLACKPINK, quickly dismissed the rumors and declared legal action against those who spread false information.
In the same photo, Rosé and Kang Dong Won were seen alongside a group of other people. However, there was nothing in the photos that suggested anything romantic between the two. Still, some gossip mongers started to spread dating rumors about them. However, earlier today YG Entertainment denied those rumors as well.
Despite the false accusations and malicious comments, Rosé did not let them affect her performance at Coachella. BLACKPINK became the first K-pop act to headline the prestigious music festival on April 16th. Before they started to perform their song “Tally”, Rosé said, “This song has an important message.” “Tally” is an empowering song about being carefree and doing what you want without caring about haters. With a fierce attitude, BLACKPINK encourages us to do whatever we desire in our lives without keeping tally or concealing it while others talk trash.
Rosé especially shone during her solo part, where she sang “I say f it when I feel it, cause no one’s keeping tally I do what I want with who I like I ain’t gon’ conceal it while you talkin’ all that shi I’ll be gettin’ mine, gettin’ mine.” Her confident and sassy expression showed that she was not afraid to stand up for herself and her choices. Her sister Alice seemingly confirmed on Instagram that she was shading the haters. Alice reposted a clip of Rosé singing those lyrics with the caption “sister, you are so smart.”
Rosé‘s fans praised her for her courage and talent. They commented that she looked beautiful and stunning on stage and that they were proud of her for handling the situation with grace and professionalism. They also expressed their support and love for her and BLACKPINK. They hoped that Rosé would not be affected by the negative comments and that she would continue to shine as an artist.
