BTS’s youngest member achieves remarkable streaming milestone with existing solo tracks
In an impressive feat that showcases his global popularity, BTS member Jungkook has surpassed 400 million streams on Spotify in 2023, all without any new solo releases this year. Despite the absence of fresh material, Jungkook’s existing solo tracks continue to captivate fans worldwide, cementing his position as one of the most-streamed K-Pop solo artists on the platform.
Jungkook began 2022 on a high note with the release of “Stay Alive,” a touching ballad recorded for the webtoon series “7Fates:Chakho.” The song, produced by BTS bandmate Suga, resonated with listeners and topped charts in several countries. Notably, “Stay Alive” marked a significant milestone for Jungkook as it became his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 as a soloist, debuting at number 95. It also made history as the first Korean soundtrack to debut on the Official Singles Chart in the United Kingdom.
Continuing his successful solo endeavors, Jungkook collaborated with American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth on the catchy pop track, “Left and Right.” The collaboration, released in June 2022, has proven to have remarkable longevity, maintaining its presence among the top 100 songs on the Spotify Daily Global Chart for over 300 days. “Left and Right” debuted at number one in India, the Philippines, and Vietnam, and reached the top five in several other countries, including the United States, where it peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Adding to his impressive repertoire, Jungkook’s contribution to the 2022 FIFA World Cup official soundtrack, “Dreamers,” further solidified his standing as a solo artist. Released on November 20 to coincide with the tournament’s opening ceremony, “Dreamers” showcased Jungkook’s versatile vocal range and received significant attention from fans around the globe.
Despite not releasing any new solo music in 2023, Jungkook’s popularity and impact have continued to soar. His three solo tracks have collectively amassed over 400 million streams on Spotify.
As the second most-streamed K-Pop solo artist on the platform this year, Jungkook‘s achievement further cements his status as a global icon and a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
